suddenly my connection says ‘cannot connect: looks like remote computer is offline or id is incorrect’. The computer in on and the id is correct. Any ideas what can be wrong?
[reply=“Richard Arnold;d1205”] Hello Richard,
It looks like that the software cannot connect to the machine in question, so firstly I would start from Firewall permissions or any other security software installed on the machine.
I guess I am not sure why it would suddenly stop working when no changes have been made on the computer. It worked fine previously.
[reply=“Richard Arnold;4274”] Hello Richard,
I agree, but for example, updating virus databases may lead to locks or heuristic reaction. Has the situation changed?
Not that I am aware of. It just stopped from one day to the next.
So I went to the remote computer and the permissions for remote assistant are all active. Now what?
[reply=“Richard Arnold;4333”] I would suggest trying to connect from the remote machine somewhere to test the connection and the software’s ability to connect.
I don’t understand this suggestion. From which machine to which machine?
From the one you mentioned in this quote to any other, just to check the total ability of the software to connect from it.
I reinstalled it and it works!
