Fast NTFS Scan Improvements?

I see that the latest Windows version release notes mention improvements to Fast NTFS scan.
Does anyone have any specifics as to what improvements were made and could you share any benchmark results that might be available?

Improved memory utilization when backing up 100,000’s of files
Speed improvements in looking for file changes on large volumes (an internal test on a test 10 TB volume showed scan speeds improving from an hour down to a few minutes) - YMMV

Thanks for the quick reply. Now if only we could enable Fast Scan via the MBS portal.

[reply=“Steve Putnam;6337”] Agreed. It’s currently scheduled for the 4.8 release of the console (we’re on v4.6 right now). I’ll add your comments to the open item and maybe we can get it sooner.
