Remote Desktop quitting unexpectedly when opening on macOS

My Remote Desktop had been working fine (on Mojave) then I installed the latest update and found that when I opened Remote Desktop I kept getting an error message something to do with my library and then when password entered a pop-up to say remote desktop quit unexpectedly. installed Cataline incase this was the glitch, and reinstalled remote desktop, now not getting the Library message on opening Remote Desktop but is still quitting unexpectedly and not opening. apparently a problem with macOS and some applications ? - very grateful if anyone has any insight I am lost without my remote access !!
