  • Specify encryption password option?
Yes I did run the backup.

    1- I made the change (from AES128 to AES256)
2- I ran the backup a few times
3-I tried multiple times to run a consistency check (with and without the password)

I believe the default option was AES128. I changed it to AES256. I didn't run a backup prior to the change.

It looks like a bug. Do you want to see the logs?

Yes I just checked, correct encryption password, but the consistency check doesn't seem to do anything.

Is it because I switched the backup encryption to AES256?

"Comparing files. Currently compared 0": The number 0 doesn't change at all during the whole consistency check process.
However, the consistency check always results in a "success" with or without password...

Right. but with or without entering the password, it doesn't seem to change a thing. It still says "completed" after running the consistency check (no error message). And the logs still say "PL] [11] WARN - Cannot load plan name CBB_Configuration\23e7a2e3-8a22-4409-923c-4a68b354356e.cbb as file is encrypted"

Instead, Wasabi will automatically remove them in about 7 days to prevent excessive storage being used.

Strange, because the test upload I interrupted 12 days ago is still not deleted...

In fact I'm not using AWS, but Wasabi.

For example, when I check the "utilization" for an empty bucket that has 1 multipart upload pending, it says that there are 2 objects in that bucket:

    Follow up question:

Is it normal that a multipart upload creates multiple (at least 2) temporary "objects" in the destination bucket?

(When checking my utilization on my S3 server, I see that I have a few more active "objects" than expected. Is it caused by multipart uploads or something else?)

Yes, thank you! That's what I found.

Do you know if deleting the orphan chunks should work when versioning is activated? Or is S3 going to keep the orphan part as the first "version"?

  • Restore entire bucket at a specific date with S3 versioning

Thank you. I hope it will be added to CloudBerry Explorer one day.

Thanks David! It's awesome there's already a project for that!

p.s. If anyone knows if there's a way to do it with CloudBerry Explorer, please ping me.
