When I make an image based backup plan and exclude files, how does the exclusion affect the size of the image in the backup? Is the software simply imaging the whole volume and then excluding the files or is it excluding the files from the image completely and thus reducing the size of the image that needs to be uploaded to the cloud.

when we backup a partition we add only used space to the backup. And when you exclude sooner files/folders it makes that backup file even smaller.
    Thanks

Thanks for the help. Sorry for the basic question but I don't want to assume too much.

Hi, I am trying to limit the size of the initial backup, and even with all folders excluded (by thicking all folders as excluded / yes I also tried thicking none of them), the cloudberry client shows that it's uploading >200GB of data (estimating a week of upload time). Is that expected behavior?
    Thank you
