Associating S3 bucket with user
I used to know how to do this but can't recall now the steps. I want to remove some old client licenses along with their S3 data. With CB Explorer, I can see all the buckets, but they are all named with a series of around 30 random letters and numbers. How do I figure out which S3 folder is for which user I have? And, is there a way to delete the S3 data from the MSP360 portal or do I have to do it manually with Amazon?
Thanks for any help.
If you use the Delete Backup Data Only option under Users, you can selectively remove data from specific machines.
You can also delete from the a Storage tab in the Agent. Folders should be named in the bucket using the computer prefix you have assigned to each machine. We don’t name buckets automatically, so not sure what or who created the random character buckets you’re seeing.
I meant the name of each folder in the bucket, trying to associate that with a user.
Go to the users tab and click on users. Find the user you want and click on the green icon on the left. It has the MBS prefix that you can then find in Cloudberry Explorer.
What Steve says is correct, if you're looking for the GUID. But whether that's the best way to remove old data depends on how you have things configured. If you are certain you are removing all computers for a specific user authentication account, then yes. But, if you are only removing some of the computers under that account, then you may want to selectively delete from the user account using the method I described earlier.
