    hello,

my NAS has run out of space.
i need to upgrade the NAS with new larger drives.
in the mean time, i need for my backup to continue to a local usb hard drive.

so i need to move the local storage account path,
can i simply move the files from NAS to local usb drive.
then change the path in the file system storage account to point to that usb drive?

please see this link, as i cannot seem to paste a image into this post

    thanks,

Simply copying the data and synchronizing repository(tools > options > repository) would work.
In general, you need to do the following:
    1) Copy your data from the old device to the new one manually
    2) Attach your new device to the machine
    3) Synchronize local repository via tools > options > repository once new destination is added.

thanks for the quick and clear reply.

i should have mentioned that i use a hybrid backup, to local and to cloud.
    would your instructions still apply?

once new destination is addedDavid Gugick

not sure what a repository is, is that the same thing as storage account?
    if true,
after i manually move the files to the usb drive; can i just change the path for the local storage account to point to the correct folder on the usb drive?
    thanks,

You can either change it or create a new storage account and update the backup plan.
