Realtime backup on Linux (or file-specific backup

Hello!
Is the realtime backup (that is, fs events-based detection of files changed) available on Linux?
I've searched forums and docs, but it seems that it's available only on Linux.
If it's not available, is it possible to run CBB via CLI, specifying only which files to backup?

The best option is schedule the backup to run with the frequency needed. You cannot select individual files to back up each time. The backup plan should have all backup locations that need to be watched in the selection list.
