Warning 'cannot be purged' on retention policies MSP 360 backup in combination with Wasabi retention

    Every time the backup plan is executed we receive a warning that a folder cannot be purged from the backup storage. It seems like the folder in the Wasabi bucket with the backup of 23-6-2023 cannot be purged, which is approximately 180 days before the last modified date of the folder itself.

    Backup plan configuration
    Type of backup: Forever Forward Incremental
    Retention: Keep backup for 180 days

    Wasabi bucket configuration
    180 days retention (Compliance Mode), object versioning.

    We would like know how to configure both Wasabi bucket and MSP360 backup plan to smoothly work together, without getting these warning.

    Ferdi, this error occurs when the software attempts to purge a "system" incremental backup that is generated just before a new synthetic full backup is created. Typically, this incremental backup is purged after a successful synthetic full backup. However, due to object lock being enabled on your storage bucket, the software is unable to delete it and therefore reports this warning.
