  • New Version - Backup Agent 7.2 for Windows
To start using the new format you have to start with a full backup. I am going to create a new job to use the new format just before a full backup is scheduled to run.
  • How do you backup a CloudBerry Drive?
I am using your backup software to do backups. I am not using drive to backup but to take advantage of cloud storage. In fact, we use the backup to do file archiving so we can keep our files as long as we want.

This project is to store data but keep it available for users. So when an engineering project is done, we would like to use drive to copy it to the cloud and have it years later. We have had clients lose drawings and come to use years later in hopes to find it. Drive would be great for this.

The best solution, so far, is using the Wasabi versioning or their compliance option. What I have not found is a way to restore previous versions (in mass) in the case of ransomware. I was hoping that your explorer could do it. It may and I just don't know how yet.

It would be great feature if drive would do versioning. The early deletion penalty doesn't expire until 90 days so why not keep versions for at least 90 days.

If you could suggest versioning for drive it would be great. I would like to hear if explorer can manage versions as well.

    Thanks
  • Need a scheme to backup to cloud and local backup with slow internet connection.
For number 3 the scheme would create a local backup and then another backup job would backup the local storage to a cloud storage. Thus a backup inside a backup. Therefore, you have to restore the local backup and then restore the files.

Anyway, I would like to try the synthetic backup since I am using Wasabi. But how does one do a seed for the initial backup? I have read the manual about how to use our high bandwidth to do the initial seed. However, it leaves out how the seed is created and then moved to our site for upload. It is left to speculation as to how to do this.

My speculation is that a backup job is done to a USB drive on site. The USB drive is brought to our facility and then use storage explorer to copy the backup to Wasabi. Is that correct?
