  • RIP Free unattended access
I'm a little sad, and a little ticked that after updating, I quickly learned that the app is no longer free for unattended usage. I mainly use it to connect to my home computer from work and a home storage device. It's a great product, but I can't justify the cost to connect to (2) computers remotely.
I have to agree with others, if it's primarily free for attended usage it's useless to me. I've used it for many years now only connecting to less than (4) computers at most.
If there's no intent to bring it back, I'm going to have to search for an alternative, which is really disappointing.
Why was it removed? I've never had to contact support of any kind. Was it a huge hit on your servers?
  • Is Linux on the roadmap?
I feel I should add the Linux flavours I've been using are Ubuntu-based (ie: Mint)
  • Is Linux on the roadmap?
For my purposes I’d like to remote into a Linux computer.
But down the road I could see the possibility of Linux also connect to win/mac.
  • Remote Desktop Randomly Loses Settings
HI David, any further word on this?
  • Remote Desktop Randomly Loses Settings
In case any MS360 tech reads this, I submitted (2) diagnostics which included the logs today. But being that I'm a free user and not commercial I've been told they've closed the tickets. But for reference they are:
    Case #: 00078163
    Case #: 00078165
  • Lost connection profiles and changed login behaviour?
I'm having the same problem as well. It seems to be something in the new version. I'm going to attempt to see if I can track down a slightly older version because it never happened before.
  • Remote Desktop Randomly Loses Settings
I've been having this issue as well. At first I thought it was random, but it's happened now about 3 times with the current version. I get that I'm a free user, but it's becoming unreliable if you're going to be able to connect or not when you need to.
