  • Glacier and new Backup format in-cloud copy
    Running into the same problem here. I want to use Glacier Instant Retrieval with GFS. I could switch to Infrequent Access, but at least all the GFS copies will (hopefully) never be accessed and so GIR would be nice.

    I currently run my plan on GIR and I've seen that MSP360 is smart enough to keep some small files it probably uses for management in Standard class.

    Now I generally like the option to use lifecycles. I could request all files to be transitioned to GIR after 40 days, so current files are Infrequent Access and relatively cheap to copy in cloud while old stuff is automatically transitioned.

    But I'm wondering:

    - Would MSP360 keep the management files in Standard class or transition them?
    - Would it be bad if they got transitioned?
