I recently needed to edit an old backup plan that uses Amazon Glacier and I got the message that Amazon Glacier isn’t supported anymore. What I don’t understand is that (1) the backup plan is still being executed successfully as far as I can tell and (2) if I create a new backup plan, although my Glacier account is no longer shown, I can still add a new S3/Glacier storage account. The message I got seems to be contradicting these 2 points. Please help me understand what’s going on. Thank you.
[reply=“Francois Parent;d9228”] Please specify when you see the message and attach a screenshot. What version of the agent are you running? Also, was the plan created in a Legacy or New Backup Format? What Amazon Glacier tier are you using?

I see the message when I click “Edit” at the bottom of an existing plan. This brings up the “Welcome to Edit Backup Plan Wizard”. I then click “Next” and this is when the message pops up. See picture.

Agent Version: I don’t know how to answer this question

The plan was created 5 years ago using the Wizard. That’s all I know.

Amazon Glacier tier: It was called S3 Glacier but I think now it’s called S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval
[reply=“Francois Parent;10155”] It looks like you are using an old Amazon Glacier Vault storage, which Amazon is no longer developing and replaced with S3 Storage Class. We discontinued support for the legacy Glacier storage a few years ago https://www.msp360.com/resources/blog/aws-s3-glacier-storage-class-instead-of-aws-s3-glacier-vaults-step-ahead/
Interesting . Somehow this change escaped my attention.
