Cloudberry for VDI environment

Hello,
I was informed that Cloudberry Explorer can be used as Azure VDI setup.
I want to know which license to buy for this or any documentation or steps to followup for setup of cloudberry explorer in Azure VDI environment, we are waiting for this from a long time, Any help or guide is highly appreciated.

THANKS

[reply=“shashank pandey;d10090”] CloudBerry Explorer is a file manager for cloud storage services. There shouldn’t be any specific issues with installing it on a virtual endpoint. Have you tried installing it? You can download it here: https://www.msp360.com/explorer/

Yes, I have done that, The problem is with license, It is basically Machine based license, Once activated it saves some file on machine, But our VDI environment is Pooled system, How can we tackle that?

[reply=“shashank pandey;11200”] I assume you are using PRO version, correct? there is also a freeware version that doesn’t require any paid licenses.

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11201”]
You are correct, But we need the PRO version, Freeware cannot meet our requirements.
However if you have freeware version link with you please feel free to share the link

[reply=“shashank pandey;11202”] it’s the same link.
Just pick Freeware when activating the product

Got it, But we have the license with us, Actually many people’s were using it already, But now as they are migrated to VDI they are unable to use them.

What we observed that as soon as I add license it changes the license file on system, and then any other user logging to the same system(as this is pooled host’s VDI) cannot login with there license which is not correct.

What do you suggest on above scnereio?

[reply=“shashank pandey;11205”] got it. let me check with the team.

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11206”]
Hello Any update on this from the team??

[reply=“shashank pandey;11208”] Do you see any error when trying activate with a different license code?

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11210”]
Do you have any guide instead on how it is used in VDI environment?
Are you aware on how the license works on cloudberry??

The problem is nature of license cloudberry has, It doesn’t show any error or anything but as the license is assigned to system, any other person who is logging in to the same system cannot get option to activate license as license is already activated on that system by another user and the license file is stored.

[reply=“shashank pandey;11211”] We have never tested or got any queries from our customers about using CloudBerry Explorer PRO license in VDI environment.

License is per computer/hardware.

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11213”]
How do you guys say that Cloud berry Explorer supports VDI environment??
Is there no documentation made by you guys on VDI environment??

[reply=“shashank pandey;11214”]

Where do we say this?

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11215”]
I was informed on email, So do you mean cloudberry did not support virtual environment?

[reply=“shashank pandey;11216”] There might have been a miscommunication. If you could DM me the details of who sent you this email, I’ll ensure it’s addressed. Regarding virtual environments, there should be no issues using CloudBerry Explorer on virtual machines hosted on Hyper-V or VMware. In addition I’ve personally used it in AWS Workspaces without any problems. We haven’t tested it on is Azure VDI, thus I can not tell what is the nature of the problem there.

Could you also DM me the email address you used to activate the licenses? I’ll check it in our system.

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11218”]
I don’t find comfortable sharing the license email ID on community forum, Maybe if we can start an email thread it would be more convenient for me.

Could you answer me one question please?
If i have one shared machine with 2 people logging to that machine having there individual cloudberry license, Person 1 will enter the license and it will save in the system file and will work good for him/her, but now person 2 login to the same machine will not get the option to enter license as the app is already licensed with person 1, and Person 2 will see all projects of person 1 only, How can this be tackled by cloudberry in current scenario?

[reply=“shashank pandey;11221”] Do you need to separate access to storage accounts, buckets or folders?

[reply=“Alexander Negrash;11222”]
I did not got you??

What is “projects”? At this point I don’t understand what you’re trying to achieve by using 2 licenses on the same machine
