Data that needs to be backed up is on another server

This is the scenario:

Server 1:

-Has the data that needs to be backed up.

Server 2:

-Has CloudBerry installed.
-Is going to be the destination where ‘Server 1’'s data is backed up to.

Would it be possible to run CloudBerry from the destination instead of the origin & if so, does anything extra need to be configured/done? Any help will greatly be appreciated.

[reply=“Jaz;d529”] I think you’ll find the performance will be much better running CloudBerry on the source server rather than having it access the network share over the network. it will work, but I do not think it’s an ideal configuration given the alternative. There might also be some backup features you cannot use in that configuration like VSS
