hi, with apologies for the basic question. The GUI is giving me “fail” messages for a certain backup, and I would really like to see the detailed log files to see what the problem is. Where are they? Using freeware for linux version 2.5.1.26
Ok, I think I found the logs at /opt/local/Cloudberry Backup. Here is an example of the error I am getting when I try to back up my music collection:
2018-09-09 16:08:14,809741 [ERROR]: [ CBB ] [ 4 ] Ignoring file: " /media/music/Classical/Poulenc /Missa Brevis/13_track_13.ogg " file contain illegal symbol!
What is the illegal symbol here?
Thanks.
[reply=“Mary Strimel;1566”] Looks like possibly an extra character after the ".OGG " or a folder name that is invalid (I see a TAB character or something in the folder name as it was posted here). What I’d do is rename the folder and check the file to make sure they are valid and then try the backup again.
Great, thanks. It was an extra space at the end of the artist name.
Now I am getting a bunch of other errors though:

Any advice as to what these errors mean?
If it matters, I am trying to back up to an external drive that is otherwise working normally.
[reply=“Mary Strimel;1569”] I do not think COLON characters are allowed in file names on some file systems (NTFS / FAT32 as an example). But since you are on Linux and may be using a different file system, I think it’s best to send your logs to CloudBerry for analysis by someone on the support staff - use the Tools | Diagnostic toolbar option.
My version doesn’t have a “Tools” menu option. I’d be happy to pay the $29.99 if it would give me this feature, but I’m not sure if it would or not.
