retrieve encryption key from backup plan

Hi-- We’ve discovered one desktop computer running Windows legacy file backup using an encryption key we have forgotten. We have complete admin access to this computer. We don’t need to know the passphrase-- we just need to restore some files from S3. Is the encrypton key stored on the computer in some way that a restore plan created on the same computer could use the key? Is it in the registry somewhere?

Thank you in advance.

[reply=“Mitchell Berman;d10094”] Unfortunately it’s not possible to restore data if you don’t remember the encryption key

thank you for the quick response.
