standalone Linux backup backup support

Sorry for my last post[. All my skills are in Microsoft servers/workstations etc..
I have only been more serious about Linux because people are now realizing
just how power full Linux is. So this is my setup:

I have installed and activated my Linux Ultimate software

I can do a local backup

I have set up an smb network share (server 2022 Microsoft)

My question is:

How do I upload specific Linux directories/files to my network share server box?

thank you for any assistance that you may be able to offer.

respect, me, Simon

[reply=“simonj;d9496”] Have you successfully mounted the network share to your Linux system? Once it’s properly mounted, you should be able to see it as a local storage destination when creating or editing a backup plan.

[reply=“simonj;d9496”] Just a quick follow-up to give some clarity here.
If need to add a network share:

  1. Mount the network share to your system
  2. In the backup agent add a local destination under the “File system” option

  3. Select your network share as a destination in your backup plan.

You can also mount/unmount network share with pre/post actions. For instructions read this article https://kb.msp360.com/backup-mac-linux/mount-unmount-network-shares-before-after-backup

thank you very much for your first class help and solution.

I have decided to go open source and use imaging software,
i will then up load the image to the network via a samba share
to my Microsoft network. this works. many thanks again, me,
respect, have a great day ;–]]
