VSS and Veracrypt

Having an encrypted volume with veracrypt in a PC system CBB using VSS refuses to do backup. How to overcome this?

[reply=“Stratos Misinezis;d309”] I think the team would need to see the logs from Tools | Diagnostic. Please send using the interface in the product and reiterate what you wrote above and someone will get back to you.

[reply=“Stratos Misinezis;994”] Probably worth a conversation with Veracrypt. According to this post about SQL Server, they may only support VSS in special cases: https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/technical/thread/47e8a020/?limit=25

[reply=“David Gugick;998”] Same test, Veracrypt encrypted volume, different OS (windows 7) cbb operates normally. So there are significant differences in VSS in between Windows 10 and Windows 7.

[reply=“Stratos Misinezis;1003”] Are you using System VSS or do you have that option unchecked? Two VSS options - just looking to clarify which ones you tried in CloudBerry.

[reply=“David Gugick;1010”] In Both systems W10 and W7 used VSS

[reply=“Stratos Misinezis;1017”] In our product, there are two VSS options. By default we will use third-party providers if one is installed. I assume that’s the option you used, but I wanted to verify. The other option is to the select use the System VSS Provider which is the one delivered by Microsoft with Windows. Probably best to go through Support with this issue as it’s going to be difficult on the forums to collect the necessary information.

[reply=“David Gugick;1034”] Yes I used default VSS. BTW in windows 10 with bitlocker in which encrypts the whole disk CDD operates with normally.
