Windows User Account Control popup when starting MSP360

Why does Windows User Account Control (UAC) now produce a popup when starting MSP360? It seems to be a new behavior with the latest update. How can I avoid the Windows nanny for this “Verified Publisher” application?

Around August/September 2025, Microsoft rolled out updates (specifically targeting “UAC Patching” vulnerabilities) that forced stricter checks on signed applications (“Verified Publishers”) that previously might have elevated silently. Simultaneously, newer versions of MSP360 (v8.1.x and later) now explicitly enforce Administrator privileges for the GUI to prevent unauthorized users from tampering with backup configurations.

Since you trust the application, you can bypass the “Windows nanny” using the Task Scheduler method. This allows MSP360 to launch with full admin rights automatically at startup without requiring a click.
