• Assign a fixed ID to a computer
support should have replied to you today with the correct information. The computer ID should not change. If you don't receive that email let me know here.
  • Missing emails to customers
two suggestions. 1. Check the inbox / outbox on the email account that's being used to send the emails and see if it's there. Possibly it's getting bounced by the email server at your customer. Or try sending an email from that same email account to the customer email and see if it goes through. 2. Open a support case to get this resolved more quickly, since this seems to be a pressing issue and the forums may not provide the fastest resolution.
  • File backup, lots of activity then nothing
if you're excluding the data it should not be cataloged. Are you sure that everything is backing up that shouldn't be is explicitly excluded from the backup?
  • Assign a fixed ID to a computer
did you get a support case ID when you opened the support case? The best I can do is reach out to support on that case, as I don't know how to correct your issue from here.
  • Why Do I Have 4 Different Versions of an Outlook .PST in Amazon S3?
I'll get back to you on the broader questions you asked, but according to your retention settings you're keeping two versions and you're not removing files from backup storage that have been deleted locally. That's perfectly fine, assuming you understand than any files that are deleted or moved will remain in backup storage indefinitely. Given that it looks like you have two backup locations in storage for that pst, my initial guess is that the file was moved. I believe Microsoft Office did that with the 2016 version, if memory serves. If you want, you can check the option to delete files that have been deleted locally, but I would put a delay in the deletion of at least 14 days or more, to ensure that if the endpoints ever hit by something like ransomware the backups are safe for that minimum amount of time. Or you could just enable that option without a delay and wait for the next plan execution to run and see if the versions that are not needed anymore are removed from backup storage. And then you can turn that option back off.
  • Assign a fixed ID to a computer
The ID should not change. Maybe you have a security configuration issue and the app cannot properly assign and save the ID. Can you provide any details about your environment, the operating system, the security privileges of the account you're running under, etc?
  • Assign a fixed ID to a computer
The Computer ID should not be changing every time you start the OS. Can you verify you are running the most current version of the software at both ends?If you are, then I'll need you to open a support case using the Diagnostic menu option.

  • Backup History Search
If you search from the agent and type *PST or *.PST, you should get a list of all files that end in PST. If you type PST or PST*, you'll get a list of all files that start with PST. If you type *PST*, you'll get a list of all files that contain PST. It searches across all storage accounts. That's what I see from the tests I ran. Are you seeing no results?
  • Backup History Search
    Steve,

Are you looking to search an individual endpoint or across all computers at a customer?
  • Why Do I Have 4 Different Versions of an Outlook .PST in Amazon S3?
Have you checked the Storage tab in the UI to see what versions are being shown for that file? Do you see 4 versions or fewer? Is it possible the PST file location was moved either manually or through an upgrade to Microsoft Office? If so, the old, now deleted, file may be kept around indefinitely depending on retention settings. What is the true location of the PST file on the endoint? And, lastly, what are your retention settings and schedules for the incremental vs full backups.
  • Changelogs for the MSP backup products
It's in the Managed Backup Help - What's New section. Log into the management console, click Help, and then select the What's New section.
  • New user Image Based Backup with incrementals question
It's not file backup. It's block-level, image backup which backs up change blocks on disk. If you run any type of defrag utility or simply rewrite files or move them, many blocks will change. You may be able to reduce this somewhat by not using defrag utilities unless needed with a spinning disk and excluding folders that do need to be backed up if you're using the legacy image backup format.
  • 2FA/MFA for Online Access users?
Not yet. That feature is logged in the system and I have added your request to the feature. Work has not been scheduled yet for a release but I'll inquire to get an updated status.
  • How to delete Backup Storage account?
It's a known issue with Restore Only accounts. Try turning off restore only from the storage account Edit - Advanced Options.
  • How to manually delete files from cloud storage
everything is incremental, so it's not possible to delete individual incremental restore points. You can update the retention policy if needed and try to manually age out the older backups once the next backup completes and can force a full on the next execution if you want. But other than that there's no way to delete these types of incremental backups, especially if you're using the new archive backup format on file folder backups, or using the legacy format for image or VM style backups.
