  • Disaster Recovery Restore To VM Daily After Daily Backup
    ↪Jim Richardson

    Hello Jim!

    Thank you for your questions!

The setup is definitely something that can be used with Server backup license but there some limitations that should be considered:
    1) Our application cannot perform restore and backup at the same time. Thus the production server has to be able to perform 2 backups and a restore a day. Depending on the size of the backup and the network bandwidth the backup could take various time to execute.
    2) It is certainly possible to use restore verification. In the essence restore verification does a partial restore to a virtual disk and tries to boot a VM with the said disk. However since it is a restore procedure it has the same limitation as regular restore. In your case it may significantly increase backup job execution. So I would advise to test it beforehand in order to decide if you could squeeze it into 24 hours time-frame.
    3) Also we would suggest to perform 2 restores to 2 different virtual disks that are scheduled every other day. This would allow you to have a restore point from a previous day while restore is running.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Kind Regards,

  • Unable to backup SQL database to cloudberry drive
    Hello Vivek,

Cloudberry Drive first and foremost is not intended for performing backup. This won't be considered a valid use case for this product.

    https://www.msp360.com/resources/blog/why-mapped-drive-may-not-be-the-best-solution-for-your-business/

If you need Backup of SQL databases you need MSP360 Backup application with included SQL functionality.

  • How to verify the lifecyle rule has completed and how long to change storage classes
    Hello Patricia,

AWS S3 generally states that transition between storage classes happens one a day at midnight UTC.
    https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/s3-lifecycle-rule-delay

Usually it rarely takes more than 48 hours in order to fully transition data between storage classes.
Please note that lifecycle policies create via Backup solution can be applied to Backups. Other data that is not backup in the same container will not be moved to a different storage class. For bulk transition use Cloudberry Explorer tool or use native AWS console instead.

  • The directory name is invalid
    ↪Amarnath

    Hello Amarnath,

Could you please confirm that the folders you are browsing in buckets do not contain empty files with 0 size? Currently we have known issue that happens when Drive tries to refresh folder with files that have 0 size.

    Thank you,

  • CloudBerry Drive Error
    ↪Rakesh-Sharma

    Hello Rakesh,

Thank you for letting us know! In this case it is expected behavior since wouldn't be able to resolve address without container name and that is why we get a timeout.

    Thank you,

  • AF-South-1 Location is incompatible
    ↪BlakeW

    Hello Blake,

Thank you for the log file. Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the issue that you have mentioned and I was able to create a new bucket in Cape Town region. The error itself is rather not really informative. However it probably relates to main region setting. Here is one of the old post from AWS forums:

    https://repost.aws/questions/QUIZTCFPrzQXa2WJ2VaPC2lw/buckets-created-in-af-south-1-cannot-be-accessed-through-global-endpoint

    AWS documentation they refer to:

    https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/userguide/VirtualHosting.html#VirtualHostingBackwardsCompatibility

Could you please try to change primary region to US East (Northern Virginia)(It worked for me) in advanced setting of the S3 account in Explorer?

    This should help.

  • Upload rules - x-amz-storage-class inconsistent?
    ↪toby1kenobi

    Hello Toby,

    Thank you for your question.

Could you please let us know the sizes of the files you are uploading to your S3? Most likely they are bigger than minimal size that is allowed for glacier instant retrieval. S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval has a minimum billable object size of 128 KB.

  • Local admin only user able to run CloudBerry Explorer
    ↪BlakeW

    Hello Blake,

If you use "run as administrator" option will this app start properly?
Also do you have any restrictions for folder creation in user folders for non-admin users? Generally speaking if application cannot find folder mentioned on a screenshot it tries to create a new one. If it cannot create folder in appdata you will get an error like this.
