    Hi,

I plan on leaving remote desktop open on my computer at home when I am away for prolonged periods of time and access the desktop via my laptop.

When I used teamviewer, if I didn't have the latest versions on both computers, remote access would be restircted.

Does MSP360 remote desktop have the same requirement i.e.

    1. Both versions of the software on each computer must be the same to allow remote connection, or
    2. Does the software always need to be latest version regardless.

I have tried searching for this but cannot find a definitive answer. Your help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Nick

There is no hard requirement that the two versions be the same. I just did a test and connected from a higher version to a lower one and it worked. But, and this is a big but, there is no guarantee a future change in the product won't require updates at both ends and even possibly an update to the latest version. In the meantime, I would refrain from updating your client unless it contains a feature or fix you need.
