I was under the impression samba was a supported file-mounting-system, as I had been using NFS for many years but a migration to Linux 22.04 broke the config structure that was working under 20.04, and following a support log I was advised NFS was not supported ( it was just lucky it worked ) and I should use Samba file sharing.
My local file system samba sharing appears to work for r/w.. but I cannot seem to reconfigure my old backup plans to point to the new SMB storage destinations.
Is this 1) to be expected, 2) I'm doing something incorrectly.
If 1) what ( if any ) is the outlook for this feature, to be a working feature?
    Many Tx
