Hi all new to MSP360... Have a customer that need to be able to restore a file for up to 10 years! I know it's crazy but it's a requirement of some of their customers! I know it will take a lot of storage.

Currently using NBF. Backup up Windows File Shares. 800GB full backup without compression.

Reminder need to be able to restore a file from any point in time!

Original thought was to take a Full Backup every 2 months and incremental backups daily. This would give me 6 Full per year and lots of incremental backups. Assuming 800GB stays level I would use approx 5TB per year (assuming no compression for this example).

    Over 10 year 50TB.

    Anyone have a better solutions/recommendation?

    Thanks!

Consider using GFS retention to store full backups for longer period without keeping incremental backups. Check this thread https://forum.msp360.com/discussion/9437/help-understanding-retention-policies
