No, it doesn't. The new backup format is not yet available for use with Linux and Mac. If I get an estimated date on when it might be available I'll reply here. However, there is block level backup support for Linux. So if you're backing up large files that only change a little from backup to backup we do have that support to only backup the changes within the files.
