  • Invalid bucket id?
    That is a known problem, will be fixed in version 2.10.

    Did you add the bucket via WEB UI like Rasmus?
    If not, check if you have any bucket restrictions on B2 side, make sure you're able to list all of the buckets on the account.
  • Files in dfmap directory taking up lots of space
    That folder is used for calculating differential maps during block-level uploads. The size depends on the number of files you're backing up. Currently there is no way to reduce its size, you need to have enough space to accommodate this data and perform successful backups on Linux/Mac.
  • Image backups keep the last version
    No negative effects whatsoever, so you can leave it as it is.
  • Extremely slow backup speed to local network SMB server using CloudBerry Backup
    We've already deployed stability fixes for this during the past months, but the main bulk of improvements have been shifted to version 3.0.
    Be sure to leave your feedback once we roll out 3.0 build either here on forum or via our support portal.
  • Image backups keep the last version
    Technically, it's not possible to have a situation where the last version of an image-based backup is deleted, since purge only happens upon successful backup, and that means you'll still have at least one version of your data on storage side.

    You retention policy looks perfectly fine, just note that purging happens upon full backups, so you'll have a little bit more versions on storage side than just 2 months.

    You can compare editions by checking out this table.
    Server edition allows to connect up to 5 different network shares to the machine you have the software installed on.
    To use more than 5 shares you need to buy the Ultimate Edition.

    Try installing the software in user mode.
    For that you need to perform clean reinstall:
    1) Uninstall the software via Control Panel.
    2) Remove configurations, logs etc. by deleting the respective folder:
    "%appdata%\..\local\CloudBerryLab\CloudBerry Drive\"
    "%programdata%\CloudBerryLab\CloudBerry Drive\"
    3) After that install the software and select "user mode" instead of common.

    Upon installation you should have settings files placed in a user folder and only that Windows account will have access to the mapped drives.

    Granular permissions and Windows ACL support are on the way.
  • BACKUP RETENTION
    If, for example, there is only one version of a file left on storage side it will not be deleted since you have the option "always keep the last version" enabled. Most likely that is the case in your setup.

    If that is not the case I'd need more info on your config, including screenshots and examples of the files that are not being purged from the backup storage tab.
  • Error: The provider returned an unexpected error code.
    Do you still see event ID 8194 in the event logs? If not, what IDs can be seen there? There's a lot of info on the net to troubleshoot such problems if you know the event IDs.

    No updates on that, but implementation of this feature this year is unlikely.

    2) Reproduce the steps mentioned in your post.

    Make sure you're doing all of the above on version 6.1.3.9.

    I don't recommend doing a backup of a backup, if that's what you're referring to by "copy everything to the server". Since I'm not really familiar enough with your setup it's difficult to recommend any particular steps. If you're backing up important data on those laptops it would be more efficient to use them for your backups and set up a bandwidth limit, this should be enough.

    It's always good to have an off-site copy of the data just in case and most of our customers prefer to simply run backups in non-business hours for each machine. I'd say the main problem here are the laptops, since they are not available 100% of time.

    Be sure to set up bandwidth schedule when running these plans, that will help with the load on your network. If you're confident in your local setup you can also perform cloud backups of just the most important data on those machines to minimize the time it takes to transfer the files. Just make sure that those plans are not running simultaneously.

    We've moved away from OneDrive as a backup destination due to severe throttling issues on their side, so it's no longer supported.

    Thanks for the feedback. Some people just preferred to see Mbits instead of Mbytes, so we put both on the progress bar, that's pretty much it.
