  • ERROR: Error occurred during backup: The provided security credentials are not valid.
That's all we get from Google servers, the error doesn't originate from our software. This should be fixed soon, but I don't have any further details from R&D about that.
  • Problems with Consistency Check
Could you please clarify what's the actual amount of data on that NAS device under this particular user? That's pretty important. If there's indeed a big discrepancy between these numbers we'd need diagnostic logs sent to us from the machine. Don't forget to add a link to this thread in the issue description so the case goes directly to me.
  • Change log for version 6.1.2.33?
I presume you're referring to "unexpected network error" when uploading files to a network share. That's mostly a Windows problem, we just tweaked some things on our side to make our software go through these errors.

There's no particular release date, but this build should be rolled out this month.
  • Can't activate free version
I don't see the screenshots for some reason. Can you re-send them?
  • Problem with Cryptomator Drive
That's not something we tested and judging by the the app description its whole purpose is to make sure that these files can't be accessed by anything other than its own services.

In case the files are encrypted by a 3rd party software you need to decrypt them first to be able to back them up with our software.
  • What's new - Backup for macOS v 2.9.4.12
We currently support only stable publicly available builds of macOS, so there may be some issues with that. Once final version is available it'll be officially supported on our side.
  • Local OneDrive and DropBox install with Files On Demand / Smart Sync enabled
No changes to this, "Online only" files can't be backed up yet, and currently full integration with Dropbox is unlikely to happen,
  • Master Password Reset
This button basically logs out your current user disabling any interaction with cloud storage accounts until the correct user credentials are provided again.

I'll transfer your feedback regarding disabling reset button to our R&D.
  • anyone notice filename encryption is missing on cloudberry 6.02.22
Do you select simple or custom mode during the plan creation? That's the only reason I can think of for that feature's absence right now. The option should still be present in advanced mode, no changes have been made regarding that.
  • Can't activate free version
What's the OS on your machine? Make sure you have TLS 1.2 enabled on it. Also, try using offline activation like specified here.
  • Problems with Consistency Check
What's the actual size of the folder with your data on that NAS device? Were any of the files moved outside of the software to that destination folder(e.g. from standalone backup)?

Also, I've seen similar behavior on NAS devices with built-in versioning enabled, so please check that, it could double or triple your backup size.

I guess you're referring to quick edit options for the plans. That was a bug, GDrive never supported file name encryption.
Note that we no longer officially support Google Drive as a backup destination due to severe problems with their API and general reliability/speed issues.
  • ERROR: Error occurred during backup: The provided security credentials are not valid.
I bet that file has a "%" character in its name. If it does, then that's a known problem. There was a pretty lengthy investigation on our side regarding that, and it seems to be a pretty unusual problem on Google's side that manifests in various other products besides ours.

Use service account or OAuth authentication instead of access/secret as a workaround for now. Sounds weird, but it helps.
  • Change log for version 6.1.2.33?
That was a minor fix for new Master Password system along with some stability improvements, no other changes in this build.
  • Retention Policy help needed
Well, this option does what the tool tip says, files get deleted on storage side after X days after they were deleted on source.

Once this option is introduced for hybrid plans you'll be able to enable it for the plan and it'll be in effect immediately..
  • Retention Policy help needed

do I just need to set "delete versions older than 1 month from backup date" and "always keep the latest version" ?P72endragon
Yes, that should work fine for the setup you mentioned.

If I did want to only keep a specific number of versions, I believe I'd set "keep number of versions for each file" - but how does that interact with the age setting? If a file changed regularly and hit the number limit before the age limit, would the earlier versions be removed to keep the version count down? Conversely, if the file didn't change very often, would versions older than the age limit be removed even if that meant being below the "number of versions to keep"?P72endragon
That is absolutely correct, the retention doesn't have some "main parameter", these options work in conjunction with each other.

When a file has been deleted from the system, I need to keep it in the backup storage for a month. I think this is "delay purge" and "delete files that have been deleted locally" settings, but I've never managed to understand what they mean and how to use them. Can anyone help me with these?P72endragon
Well, this option does what it is actually written in the description. When you delete a file, the software will check its existence in source and trigger a month-long countdown, there will also be a note that some files will be deleted in X days. After that time the files will be deleted from storage side.

The other thing that confuses me about them is when I'm configuring a hybrid backup with a NAS for local storage and an Amazon Glacier account for Cloud storage, the retention policy page doesn't have a "delete files that have been deleted locally" setting, only the "delay purge" (doing a local storage only, I get both options)P72endragon
This option is not yet available for hybrid backups, we'll introduce it later, it's already in the works.

So, to achieve your desired results I'd configure retention like on the screenshot below

That should be enough. Let me know if I missed anything.
  • 2.2 install fails.
Try rebooting the machine and checking if that particular file is locked by antivirus software.
  • Block Level Image Backups Doing Full Since Update
Not familiar with anything like that, so we need the logs from the machine fo further investigation. You can send them viatools > diagnostic menu in the backup agent or "gear" button > send logs in your web dashboard.

Be sure to provide the screenshots of the issue once the ticket is created after sending the logs.
Also, I'd appreciate if you add a link to this forum thread in the issue description.
  • Don't purge when local deleted??? But cannot find data on cloud
I'm afraid these details are not enough to understand what you mean. I guess it would be more efficient to contact our support department. First, send them the logs viatools > Diagnostic menu and provide as many details as possible in the issue description Don't forget to refer to this forum thread. After the ticket is created please also provide a couple of screenshots of the problem.
  • Archive mode in Linux backup
This option is not yet available in Linux version. It's on our road map.
