  • How to backup offline on premise server to Amazon S3
    ↪Mika Nakagawara
, take a look at these options here:
    1. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/en_pv/vpn/latest/s2svpn/how_it_works.html

    2. Once you have connectivity in place between your VPC and AWS, you can work with S3 by using VPC S3 endpoint.
    https://www.cloudberrylab.com/resources/blog/creating-and-accessing-amazon-s3-vpc-endpoint/

In this case, the traffic will flow from your VPC to S3 via the connection that you configure on step #1.

    Thanks

    What version are you on?
Also, do you connect to your S3-compatible storage using signature v4 or v2?
Do you get an email with a link to the detailed report?

    Thanks for your patience.
I have an update on the missing feature.

  • Multiple backup plans targeting the same destination storage
    ↪Davison
    , thanks for your question.
You can run several plans backing up to the same storage but only if the backup sets are different.

Technically, it would work even if you pick the same folder to backup in two plans. Let’s say for over plan you have 30 days retention and for the second plan you have 7 days retention. I’d run daily, the second plan will keep deleting backups older than 7 days and the first plan will never reach 30 days of recovery points.

Also, it’s a good practice to split a hard drive to smaller partitions, back up system partition with image based backup, data partitions with file-level backup or SQL our exchange backup if applicable.

    Thanks

  • Testing Bootable USB - missing operating system
    Hi
    ↪Rocky
    ,

Just to confirm, you have installed Cloudberry Backup, performed an image-based backup, created a USB-drive from the backup agent, trying to boot it up and it's not loading with the message "operating system not found", correct?

    Thanks

  • Scheduling multiple plans for backup
    ↪LeeF
    , either way works.
The easiest way is to back then all up with a single plan, in this case you can stop a plan after running for X hours not to interrupt your users.
    Thanks

  • Newbie Question about backing up multiple NAS shares
    ↪LeeF
, you can back up multiple shares with a single plan, but you gonna need a license that supports a sufficient number of shares. Please check the license comparison page.

  • Direct LAN connection
    Thank you for the question,
    ↪Claudia
    !
If the encryption is enabled then the data capture won't be of any value, because it won't be able to decrypt it.
Also, let me add a bit of complexity here: even if there's no encryption used, since it's our proprietary format, it's not that easy to get anything data from that data stream capture.
    Thank you.

  • cloudberry backup "restore-only" free edition alongside a regular managed installation
    Hi Dave
    ↪db ots
    ,
You can have 2 agents to be installed side by side, but only if one is managed and the other one is standalone.
But, if in the managed backup you won't need to provide credentials to the agent as they would be taken from the managed web console, for standalone you would need to type credentials to the storage.
We never thought of scenarios like you described, but it would work in the way I shared.
    Thanks
