  • Service Starts, Then Stops
Great. I was checking with Support, and they confirmed a reinstall usually addresses the problem with that missing file.

If you run into the IPC Port Error again, they recommend you do the following:

Make sure the Drive Service is running and also check that Drive service Recovery Tab (in Services for the CloudBerry Drive Service) is set to restart ion the first and second failures.
  • Agent v7.4.3.5
they're minor bug fixes as reported in the release notes. One is related to VMware restores using the new backup format and the other is a correction for incorrect reporting of an error when there was not one with new backup format backups.
  • Service Starts, Then Stops
Could you try reinstalling Drive? I'm not sure what that missing file is, but if it's installed with the product, a reinstall might address it. I realize the missing file may be unrelated to the drive mapping issue, but let's try the reinstall.

Support doesn't monitor these forums. You need to reach out to support directly from the link below for the Support Portal. They will be able to assist you. https://support.msp360.com/

In the meantime, you will be able to use the software without any issues, and upgrade versions as needed.
  • Azure Storage Archive - Incremental Backups
We still support Glacier, but through the newer S3 Glacier API. You would register your AWS S3 account and then on the Compression and Encryption Options page (for stand-alone) and the Advanced Options (for Managed) of the Backup Wizard (for both legacy and new backup formats), you have a drop-down list called Storage Class that lets you select the S3 storage class. From there, you can select:

    • Standard
    • Intelligent-Tiering
    • Standard-Infrequent Access
    • One Zone-Infrequent Access
    • Glacier
    • Glacier Instant Retrieval
    • Glacier Deep Archive
  • New Version for Microsoft 365 (O365) and Google Workspace (G Suite) Backup is Now Available
One thing I wanted to add: We do resell both AWS S3 (Standard) and Wasabi storage. So, if you'd prefer not to have to open your own account with either of those vendors, you can simply click on the MSP360 S3 or MSP360 Wasabi storage options when setting up storage. Pricing is the same as what you'd pay for storage directly from the vendor, with the added benefit of getting a single bill from MSP360. We also have some features that you only get with us: For example, the MSP360 S3 storage has no data egress or API charges and the Wasabi storage has only a 30 Day retention requirement.

  • New Version for Microsoft 365 (O365) and Google Workspace (G Suite) Backup is Now Available
We integrate with public cloud storage vendors. You can use Amazon S3, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. We do support local backups, but this support does not extend to O365 and G Suite. Those hosted platforms must be backed up to the cloud. You would need your own cloud account or your customer can use their own if they have one and provide the needed credentials to you to properly integrate into the management console. If you'd like a personalized demo, please reach out to sales and they'll be more than happy to set up one for you. https://www.msp360.com/contact.aspx/?category=sales
  • Azure Storage Archive - Incremental Backups
I think if you're just backing up files, I'd stick with the legacy file backup format. That format is incremental forever, and you'll never need to run another full backup. You can manage your retention at the file version level, which will make it very easy to manage what you need to keep long-term.
  • New Version for Microsoft 365 (O365) and Google Workspace (G Suite) Backup is Now Available
From a licensing perspective, Google G Suite / Workspace is licensed per User. Licenses include support for backing up email, calendar, contacts, and individual Drive files.

If your customer is using Google Shared Drives (https://support.google.com/a/answer/7212025), then you need an additional license for the Shared Drive. You can use shared drives in Google Drive to store, search, and access files with a team. Shared drive files belong to the team instead of an individual.
  • How to deselect mutliple files?
I will pass this information to the team and add it to the system and hopefully it can be addressed. Thanks for your feedback
  • How to deselect mutliple files?
In my experience, I think it's pretty standard behavior. By checking a subdirectory you put the parent directory in a semi-selected state. In Windows this should normally show up as gray in color somewhere in between checked and unchecked to indicate that not everything below the parent is selected. I don't recall how it looks in Linux. Please post an image if the selection of a subdirectory does not somehow change the selected state of the parent. Thanks for the feedback.
  • How to deselect mutliple files?
Have you tried unchecking the parent directory, so all subdirectories are also unchecked, and then selectively checking the subdirectories you want to backup?
  • Accessing A Hidden Taskbar
I'll ask the team to see if they can test this on Windows 7. Can you verify by making sure you are running full screen to ensure you cannot trigger the taskbar to open? Can you also tell me what resolution you are running on the Windows 7 system and what resolution you are running on the system you are using to connect? Thanks.
  • Accessing A Hidden Taskbar
I just tried and had no issues getting the taskbar to pop up when the mouse was over the region that triggers this. I tried on Windows 10. Looking at your screenshot, I am assuming you are on an older OS. What version are you using?
  • Accessing A Hidden Taskbar
I'll have the team check the auto hide taskbar option.
  • Accessing A Hidden Taskbar
Can you clarify what you're talking about with the remote hidden taskbar? I'm not sure I fully follow.

CTRL+ESC should open the Start Menu. I don't use the Windows key, so I'll have to do some testing myself to see how that works.
  • Restoring From a NAS to an Alternate Computer
Version of product? I believe this was a known issue and was addressed in the 7.4 release.
  • Windows 2019 - CloudBerry Drive
Drive has not officially been tested on Windows Server 2019, but we have no reported issues in the system from customers using it on that platform. If you want to use it and you run into issues you can let us know, and if you purchase and the issue cannot be resolved on that platform, the team would be more than happy to issue a refund.

I'll get back to you on your other question when I hear from support.
  • Recommended Backup Exclusions

This is for File Backups Only. We do not back up files for image backups, so if you're concern is figuring out file sizes on the source volumes, you should use something like Windows Explorer to search for large files on the volume.

    Otherwise, please follow these steps:
    • Click History tab
    • View - Files
    • Backup / Restore Plans - Select the plan in question
    • Operation - Backup
    • Period - All (or whatever you want based on need)

That should give you a list of files backed up. You can then sort the table and / or export to CSV using the toolbar option.
  • Restoring From a NAS to an Alternate Computer
My recommendation would be to create a restore plan on the computer where the backups are being taken, and restore them to the other computer either by restoring to a temporary location and copying, or restoring to a network share where the first computer can access them, or by exposing one of the local drives on the other computer as a share and restoring directly there. If you want to restore from the other computer and you're not using it actively for backups, you can do that, but you'll have to set the backup prefix accordingly. https://help.msp360.com/cloudberry-backup/restore/about-restore/restore-from-another-computer
